Glenview is within the Northfield, New Trier, Maine, and Niles Townships. It is located 18 miles north of downtown Chicago. Glenview is bordered by Northbrook, Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Des Plaines, and Wilmette. It is on of the most progressive suburbs in the city, offering a buzzing business district with the peacefulness of beautiful residential neighborhoods.

The area was inhabited by farmers throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was originally called South Northfield, and later adopted the name Glenview after the village was incorporated with a population of only 351 people. After the Chicago Fire, the Milwaukee Railroad was built through the center of the town, making it accessible to Chicago. For many years, the Glenview Naval Air Station was an important part of the Village but it closed almost 20 years ago in order to integrate the area into the village. The mission of the renovation project was to build quality public amenities, infrastructure, and housing.

Glenview residents are attracted to the area, as it is a growing community with over 40,000 residents. People who live in Glenview like the easy access to the Tri-State Tollway, the Edens Expressway, and Illinois State Routes 43, 58 and 21. The Chicago Loop is a short drive or train ride away through the Metra or Amtrak stops at the Glenview Station. Its excellent school system makes it a great place to raise a family and the stable taxes and high quality services make it a distinguished community. The suburb has beautiful residential neighborhoods with single family homes, condos, and townhomes.
