Uptown

The Uptown neighborhood is within MLS area 8003. It is located on the north side of Chicago. Located between the Lakeview and Edgewater neighborhoods, its boundaries as defined by the city stretch north to Foster, south to Irving Park, east to the lake, and as far as Ravenswood on the west. It is a community with a rich history and great live music and nightlife.
Historically the area was a hotbed of radical idealism in the 60s and 70s, and even today, that legacy endures today in a network of social services and a fractious political landscape. Today however, the area is the perfect combination of the old and the new, having the highest concentration of Asian restaurants outside of Chinatown right next to two very important historical symbols: The Aragon Ballroom and the Uptown Theatre.
